Misto Group Joins Earth Hour 2026: Turn Off the Lights for Earth

2026.03.30

[Seoul, South Korea – March 30, 2026] Misto group took part in Earth Hour 2026 on March 28, joining one of the world’s largest global campaigns to raise awareness of the climate crisis.

To spread the message of environmental protection as far as possible, Misto Holdings encouraged group-wide participation — from its domestic headquarters to affiliates around the world — reinforcing its commitment to sustainable management as a global citizen.

Earth Hour, organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), is held every year on the last Saturday of March, at 8:30 p.m. During this hour, individuals and companies, both large and small, turn off their lights to raise awareness of the climate crisis and natural destruction. Among 118 countries that marked Earth Hour 2025, Korea saw 119 companies and organizations take part. Even greater participation was expected from major global companies and Korea-based conglomerates this year, marking the 20th Earth Hour.

This was also the first time that Misto group joined the campaign, as it emphasized the value of a momentary pause for a sustainable future with employees worldwide. Along with the headquarters, major overseas affiliates including China, Italy, Luxembourg, and Vietnam participated by switching off their main office lighting for an hour. The synchronized participation across countries — each aligned with local time — highlighted the group's global environmental efforts.

"Earth Hour was a meaningful time for all Misto employees worldwide to grasp the severity of the climate crisis and share the message that even a brief pause can lead to significant change for the planet,” said a Misto Holdings spokesperson. “We will continue to participate in environmental campaigns leveraging our global network, strengthening our commitment to sustainable management."

As part of its new journey toward a sustainable future, including the strategic pillar “Resilient Planet,” Misto Group has pursued various carbon emission reduction activities. Among these initiatives, it has achieved a 90% return rate on reusable cups at its headquarters’ in-house café, saving 110,950 disposable cups (equivalent to 18.5 tCO₂ or 306 trees). It has also promoted resource management and climate action worldwide, including setting up water filtration systems in Cambodia.
